The original Wolfburn Distillery was founded in 1821 by William Smith & Co in the northern Highlands. Production ceased around 1850 and the distillery fell into disrepair. By 1872, only ruins remained. It was not until 2011 that plans were drawn up for a new distillery not far from the site of the old plant. Whisky production then began in January 2013.
Wolfburn Morven matured for an undefined period in oak barrels. Bottled at 46% alcohol by volume, without coloring and not chill-filtered.
Aroma: Mildly smoky with sweet and sour fruitiness, floral notes and a slight spiciness.
Taste: Green apples, essential oils and delicate herbs with a hint of peat smoke, malty.
