The Glenfiddich distillery was built between 1886 and 1887 by William Grant
and began production on Christmas Day 1887.
In 1892, the founder of the Glenfiddich
Distillery to visit the nearby Balvenie distillery
which is also still owned by William Grant &
Sons. In 1963, the distinctive, three-sided
Glenfiddich bottle. In the same year, the distillery launched
also launched the first official single malt whisky ever.
Glenfiddich 15 years matured the entire time in a combination of
former bourbon, sherry and fresh barrels from American
White oak (Virgin Oak). Bottled with a mild 40% alcohol by volume.
Aroma: Sweet and spicy, cereal with hints of baked apple and raisin, dry oak and a hint of cinnamon.
Taste: Slightly peppery, sweet with caramel, fruity with ripe apples and pears, nutty oak notes.
