The original Wolfburn Distillery was founded in 1821 by William Smith & Co. in the Northern Highlands. Production ceased around 1850, and the distillery fell into disrepair. By 1872, only ruins remained. It wasn't until 2011 that plans were drawn up for a new distillery not far from the site of the old facility. Whisky production began in January 2013.
Wolfburn Love Potion matured for an undefined time in a combination of
Oloroso sherry casks and ex-bourbon casks.
