The Teeling Distillery traces its origins back to Walter Teeling, who founded a distillery in Marrowbone Lane in 1782. This Dublin district was also known as the "Golden Triangle" due to its high concentration of distilleries. The current Teeling Distillery was founded in 2015 by John Teeling's two sons, using the proceeds from the sale of the Cooley Distillery.
Teeling Small Batch was initially matured for an unspecified period in ex-bourbon barrels and subsequently finished in rum casks. Bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered.
