
The Tamdhu Distillery was founded in 1897 in Speyside, Scotland, and is located in the immediate vicinity of the Dailuaine, Knockando and Cardhu distilleries. Tamdhu translates as "little dark hill". The distillery's single malts, which they bottle themselves, are matured exclusively in Spanish sherry casks. Since 2013, the distillery has been owned by Ian Macleod, who also owns Glengoyne and Rosebank.
Tamdhu 18 years matured the entire time in former Oloroso sherry casks.
Bottled with 46.8% alcohol by volume, without colorant and not chill-filtered.
Aroma: Dry, nutty sherry notes, cherries, milk chocolate, rum raisins, citrus fruits, baked oats and plums.
Taste: Rich sherry notes, vanilla, brown sugar, apples, dried fruit, apricots and dates.
