The Talisker distillery was established in 1831 on the Scottish Isle of Skye. The name derives from the Talisker House estate, a few miles west in the mountains. After a fire in 1960 that almost destroyed the entire distillery, Talisker was rebuilt true to the original a few years later. Skye's stunning scenery attracts countless tourists to the distillery every year, many of whom delight in the distillery's peppery, smoky single malt.
Talisker 10 years matured the entire time in oak barrels. Bottled at 45.8 vol. % alcohol.
Aroma: Paprika spice, delicate fruit note with peppery peat smoke and mild oak.
Taste: Pepper, aromatic sweetness with hints of pear and preserved fruit, mildly smoky.
