Springbank 12 Year Old Cask Strength 0.7l, 56.6% ABV

Founded in 1828 on the Kintyre Peninsula in Campbeltown, West Scotland, Springbank Distillery is still family-owned by the founding Mitchell family (J & A Mitchell & Co.). As one of the last active distilleries in a once-flourishing whisky region, Springbank is considered by connoisseurs to be one of Scotland's most distinctive distilleries.

As the only distillery in Scotland, Springbank carries out all production steps - from malting the barley to distillation and bottling - entirely on-site at its own premises. The floor malting is still operated by hand, distillation is exclusively in small copper pot stills, and every bottle is bottled without coloring and without chill-filtration.

The Springbank 12 Years Cask Strength matured in a classic mix of ex-Bourbon and Sherry casks and is bottled annually in small batches at full cask strength. Bottled at a powerful 56.6% ABV, without coloring, non-chill-filtered.

Nose: Ripe raisins and dark berries with toffee, salty caramel, a hint of sea salt and a subtle, spicy smoke note in the background.

Taste: Oily, powerful start with sweet Sherry notes, dried fruit and spicy oak. Salty caramel, dark chocolate and a long, slightly smoky-maritime finish - typical Campbeltown character.
