The Slyrs distillery has been producing single malt whiskey since 1999. In the beginning, the Lantenhammer distillery housed the production, from 2007 in its own premises in the immediate vicinity of the Schliersee. Since the beginning of 2022, Slyrs has been an independent company, which is now known beyond the German borders with a large number of different bottlings.
Slyrs Champions Malt first matured for 3 years in fresh American white oak barrels (Virgin Oak) and then received a post-maturation in Bavarian wheat beer barrels for 6 months. Bottled at a mild 40 vol. % alcohol, without coloring and not chill-filtered.
Aroma: Fresh and fruity with lemons, slightly floral with hints of leather and rubber and a yeasty-spicy undertone.
Taste: Mild with a mix of fresh wood, spices and a slight dryness, lemons, pear peel and some sweetness.
