The Oban Distillery was founded in the town of the same name as early as 1794. The distillery is one of the few remaining that is located in the town itself and does not produce outside of it. Oban forms the border between the Scottish Highlands and the islands, both geographically and in terms of the character of the single malt itself. Bottlings from the distillery are rather rare. Oban is known for its 14-year-old single malt, which is part of the Classic Malts series.
Oban Little Bay matured for an unspecified period of time in oak barrels. Bottled at 43% alcohol by volume.
Aroma: Citrus with delicate sweetness, some spice, light peat smoke and hints of heather and zest.
Taste: Spicy grain, ripe oranges and peel, some clove, delicate smoke and dry oak.
