Nikka Frontier 0.5l, 48% ABV

The Nikka company was founded by Masataka Taketsuru in 1934, after he had apprenticed in Scotland several years prior in Scotch whisky distillation and then helped build the Suntory company. Nikka operates a number of facilities and distilleries in Japan, including the Yoichi and Miyagikyo whisky distilleries. In addition, the Scottish Ben Nevis Distillery belongs to the Japanese company.

This blend is a deep bow to Nikka's origins and focuses on the characterful, heavily peated malt of the legendary Yoichi distillery.

Nikka Frontier matured for an undefined period in oak casks.
Bottled at a robust 48% vol. alcohol.

Aroma: Intense peat notes dominate the nose, accompanied by lively citrus notes of orange and lemon. Undertones of chocolate, grain, and soft vanilla add a complex depth to the bouquet.

Taste: On the palate, fruity apple notes and sweet caramel combine with a distinctive peat character. A fine spice of white pepper and nuances of dark chocolate give the body an impressive structure.
