The Lochlea Distillery has been producing single malt whiskey in the Scottish Lowlands since 2018. The barley used for production is grown and harvested in our own fields. The Scottish national poet Robert Burns lived on the property from 1777 to 1784 and supported the family in their daily business. Lochlea Distillery Manager is John Campbell, who was poached from Laphroaig.
Lochlea Sowing Edition matured in former bourbon barrels for an undefined period of time. Bottled at 46% vol. Alcohol, without coloring and not cold filtered.
Aroma: Sweet and sour fruit notes, sugary sweetness with dry nuttiness and grassy hints.
Taste: Sweet with powdered sugar and marshmallows, malty with green apples and fresh ginger.
