Tobermory was founded in 1798 in the town of the same name on the Scottish island of Mull. After many sales and closures, the distillery operated at times as the Ledaig Distillery. However, after another closure, it was renamed Tobermory again. Today the distillery is very successful in producing non-smoky whiskey which they bottle as Tobermory. And also smoky single malt, which they bring into the glasses of connoisseurs as Ledaig.
Ledaig 18 years first matured in oak casks and then received a post-maturation in sherry casks. Bottled at 46.3 vol. % alcohol, without coloring and not chill-filtered.
Aroma: Ripe fruit notes with delicate sherry, dried fruit, hints of tea and spicy peat smoke.
Taste: Dried dates and apricots, sweetness and spice mixed with caramel and pepper, smoky, oak and citrus.
