Tobermory was founded in 1798 in the town of the same name on the Scottish island of Mull. After many sales and closures, the distillery operated at times as the Ledaig Distillery. However, after another closure, it was renamed Tobermory again. Today the distillery is very successful in producing non-smoky whiskey which they bottle as Tobermory. And also smoky single malt, which they bring into the glasses of connoisseurs as Ledaig.
Ledaig 10 years matured the entire time in oak barrels. Bottled at 46.3 vol. % alcohol, without coloring and not chill-filtered.
Aroma: Slightly phenolic peat smoke with hints of oak, sweet-spicy hints and essential oils.
Taste: Sweet and grainy with caramel and some pepper, herbal peat smoke, citrus and some oak.
