Laphroaig Four Oak 1.0l, alc. 40 Vol.-%

The Laphroaig Distillery was officially founded in 1815 in the south of the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay. During Prohibition, the distillery's whiskey was sold as medicine, which explains the appearance and features of the whiskeys. In 1994 the distillery received the Royal Warrant from King Charles III. handed over. He really appreciates Laphroaig's smoky single malt whiskey and visits the distillery regularly. Laphroaig means something like “the beautiful hollow on the wide bay”.

Laphroaig Four Oak matured for an undefined period of time in a combination of former bourbon and sherry casks, as well as quarter casks and fresh American white oak (Virgin Oak) casks. Bottled at 40 vol. % alcohol.

Aroma: Sweet with herbal smoke, medicinal notes, hints of fruit and fresh oak.

Taste: Sweet with buttercream and some pepper, malty with maritime freshness, peat smoke and a hint of sandalwood.
