The Laphroaig Distillery was officially founded in 1815 in the south of the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay. During Prohibition, the distillery's whiskey was sold as medicine, which explains the appearance and features of the whiskeys. In 1994 the distillery received the Royal Warrant from King Charles III. handed over. He really appreciates Laphroaig's smoky single malt whiskey and visits the distillery regularly. Laphroaig means something like “the beautiful hollow on the wide bay”.

Laphroaig 25 years matured the entire time in former bourbon barrels. Bottled with a powerful 47.3 vol. % alcohol, not cold filtered.

Aroma: Sweetness and spice in the mix, dry wood, hints of smoked bacon, delicate smoke and licorice.

Taste: Subtle smoke, sweet with vanilla and roasted notes, peppery spiciness, hints of light dried fruits.
