Lagavulin is a whisky distillery located in the village of the same name on the Scottish Isle of Islay. Whisky was produced at the current site as early as 1742. However, the first legal distillery was not founded until 1816 by John Johnston. Located in the south of the island, in close proximity to Ardbeg and Laphroaig, Lagavulin, like its neighbors, produces smoky single malt whisky. The distillery's name translates as "the hollow of the mill."

Lagavulin 16 Year Old matured the entire time in a combination of former bourbon and sherry casks. Bottled at 43% alcohol by volume.

Aroma: Mix of spicy and sweet with deep smokiness, iodine and seaweed, dry oak.

Taste: Peppery spiciness with sweet herbs, maritime, smoked ham, wood.
