Originally founded in 1972, Glengyle shares the same fate as almost all distilleries in Campbeltown. Hedley Wright, a descendant of founder William Mitchell and owner of the Springbank Distillery, bought the old Glengyle buildings in November 2000 and began renovations. He primarily used second-hand equipment for producing the single malt. The Glengyle Distillery reopened in 2004, and the first new make spirit was distilled on March 25th.

Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 13 matured for an unspecified time in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks . Bottled at a robust 58.6 % ABV, without added colouring and non-chill filtered.

Aroma: Butterscotch, banana cake, floral notes of elderflower, strong peat smoke

Taste: Salty notes, peat, ham, honeydew melon
