Originally founded in 1972, Glengyle shares the same fate as almost all distilleries in Campbeltown. Hedley Wright, descendant of founder William Mitchell and owner of the Springbank Distillery, bought the old Glengyle buildings in November 2000 and began renovation work. He used mainly second-hand equipment to produce the single malt. The Glengyle Distillery reopened in 2004 and the first new make was distilled on March 25th.

Kilkerran 16 years matured in a combination of former bourbon, sherry and rum casks . Bottled at 46% alcohol by volume, without coloring and not chill-filtered.

Aroma: Grain, malt, fruity lemons, apricots and orange peel.

Taste: Spicy and complex, honey, liquorice and milk chocolate and a hint of anise.
