In 1966, John Power & Son, John Jameson & Son and the Cork Distilleries Company (which operated Old Midleton Distillery) combined to form the Irish Distillers Group. Subsequently, it was decided to close the existing distilleries and to bundle the entire production in a new, very modern facility. This was built in Midleton. In 1975 production ended at the Old Jameson Distillery and began at the new one. The old distillery has now been converted into a visitor centre.
Jameson Crested matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks for an undefined period of time. Bottled at a mild 40% ABV. Alcohol.
Aroma: Covered flowery, sugary sweetness with a creamy edge, delicately fruity, grainy.
Taste: Sweet with caramel and candy, hints of nutty sherry and pears.
