Highland Park is not only one of the northernmost distilleries in Scotland, but also one of the oldest. The distillery's operators claim that it was founded in 1798. Located in the town of Kirkwall on the Orkneys, Highland Park produces a spicy, smoky single malt and is one of the few distilleries in Scotland to use its own malt floors. The bottlings have nicknames reminiscent of the Vikings.

Highland Park Cask Strength No.4 matured for an indefinite period of time in a combination of first fill sherry seasoned European oak casks, first fill sherry seasoned American oak casks, refill casks, ex-bourbon casks and ex-port casks. Bottled with a strong 64.3% alcohol by volume, without coloring and not chill-filtered.

Aroma: Pink grapefruit, fragrant rose water, exotic sun-dried spices and liquorice come together.

Taste: Again exotic, sun-dried spices and earthy notes of toasted oak and peat smoke.
