In Berchtesgaden, under the watchful eye of the Watzmann, lies the Grassl gentian distillery, which has been practicing the traditional craft of gentian, masterwort and juniper distilling since 1692.

The highly aromatic wood of the mulberry tree gives the plum distillate of the "Grassl Altes Pflümli" its balanced aroma and its noble red-brown amber color.
