
Evidence of (illegal) whiskey distilling in the region around the town of Tain dates back to around 1700, but legal whiskey has only been produced at the Glenmorangie Distillery since 1843. The distillery was the first to begin maturing its whiskey in other barrels on a large scale. Over the years, the distillery has been expanded several times, but they deliberately stuck to the small but tall stills, which are unique in shape in all of Scotland.
Glenmorangie 15 Years Cadboll Estate matured the entire time in former bourbon barrels. Bottled at 43% vol. Alcohol.
Aroma: Ripe citrus fruits, sweet with honey, floral with a spicy edge and some oak.
Taste: Fruity with apricot and pear compote, herbal honey and ginger, citrus peel and some vanilla.
