Evidence of (illegal) whiskey distilling in the region around the town of Tain dates back to around 1700, but legal whiskey has only been produced at Glenmorangie Distillery since 1843. The distillery was the first to start aging its whiskey in other casks on a large scale. Over the years, the distillery has been expanded several times, but the small but tall stills, which are unique in their shape throughout Scotland, have remained consciously.
Glenmorangie 12 Years Old first matured in ex-bourbon casks and then received a post-maturation in Palo Cortado sherry casks. Bottled at 46% ABV. Alcohol.
Aroma: Sweet and creamy with hints of milk chocolate and honey, delicately fruity, mild oak note.
Taste: Sweet and fruity with caramel, ripe apples and peaches, delicately spicy oak, slightly nutty.
