A local farmer named George Connell founded Glengoyne Distillery in 1833 in the southern Highlands. However, under the name "Burnfoot of Dumgoyne". In 1861 it was renamed the Glenguin Distillery. It was not until 1906, after it was sold to the Lang brothers, that it was given the name Glengoyne, which we know today. Most of the single malts from the distillery come with an age statement.
Glengoyne 21 Years matured the entire time in former sherry casks. Bottled at a mild 43% ABV. Alcohol, without dye.
Aroma: Malty and grainy with dry spiciness, sweet sherry aromas, light dried fruit and nutty oak
Taste: Sweetness and spice mixed with honey and some pepper, hints of raisins and ripe pears, milk chocolate.
