A local farmer named George Connell founded Glengoyne Distillery in 1833 in the southern Highlands. However, under the name "Burnfoot of Dumgoyne". In 1861 it was renamed the Glenguin Distillery. It was not until 1906, after it was sold to the Lang brothers, that it was given the name Glengoyne, which we know today. Most of the single malts from the distillery come with an age statement.
Glengoyne 10 years matured the entire time in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks. Bottled at a mild 40% ABV. Alcohol, without dye.
Aroma: Sweet with barley malt, vanilla and green apples, some oak.
Taste: Citrus accentuated, icing sugar with hints of coconut and nuts, some dry oak.
