The Glenfiddich distillery was built by William Grant between 1886 and 1887 and began production on Christmas Day 1887. In 1892, the founder took a break from managing the Glenfiddich Distillery to build the nearby Balvenie distillery, which is also still owned by William Grant & Sons. The distinctive, three-sided Glenfiddich bottle was introduced in 1963. That same year, the distillery also launched the first official single malt whisky ever.

Glenfiddich 18 Year Old matured for the entire period in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks. Bottled at a gentle 40% ABV.

Nose: Ripe fruit notes, sugary sweetness, cinnamon, aromatic oak.
