The Glenfarclas distillery was founded in 1836 by Robert Hay in Speyside, Scotland and was licensed to distill whiskey in 1844. In 1865 the distillery was sold to John Grant, whose descendants later renovated the distillery and still own it today. Glenfarclas is known for its single malts, which mature entirely in ex-sherry casks. Hardly any Scottish distillery has such an extensive range of different bottlings.

Nose: Deep maltiness with hints of brandy beans, polished wood and leather, overripe fruit and cinnamon.
Taste: Grainy and fruity with fruitcake, baked apples and brown sugar, marzipan and nutty oak.
