The Glenfarclas distillery was founded in 1836 by Robert Hay in Speyside, Scotland and was licensed to distill whiskey in 1844. In 1865 the distillery was sold to John Grant, whose descendants later renovated the distillery and still own it today. Glenfarclas is known for its single malts, which mature entirely in ex-sherry casks. Hardly any Scottish distillery has such an extensive range of different bottlings.
Glenfarclas 25 years matured the entire time in former sherry casks. Bottled at 43% vol. Alcohol, without dye.
Aroma: Sweet honey with ripe fruits, grated hazelnuts and aromatic oak wood notes with spices and ginger.
Taste: Roasted grain, caramel and wild honey, delicate sherry note with slightly chocolaty oak and some orange.
