Glen Elgin distillery marks a turning point in single malt history. Founded on Speyside in 1898, it was the last distillery to be built during the boom years of Scotch whiskey production. During the early years of production, Glen Elgin was repeatedly closed and reopened. During the following decades, the distillery changed hands several times, with production always standing still between acquisitions. Today Glen Elgin mainly distills for the blend industry.

Glen Elgin 12 years matured the entire time in oak barrels, bottled at 43 vol. % alcohol.

Aroma: Emphasized cereals with dry oak, pear and delicate sweetness.

Taste: Hints of ginger and pear peel, some honey with dry edges, floral.
