Finlaggan Old Reserve 0.7l, alc. 40 Vol.-%

On the Scottish island of Islay lies Loch Finlaggan, a place of great importance in Scottish history. The chiefs of Clan Donald chose Finlaggan Castle as their home and the center of their rule, so Islay is often referred to as the cradle of Clan Donald. The Lords of the Isles ruled the Isles and part of the west coast of Scotland virtually independently of royal control for the 13th to 15th centuries until 1493 when the Lordship of the Isles fell to James IV of Scotland.

Finlaggan Old Reserve matured in ex-bourbon casks for an undefined period of time. Bottled at 40 vol. % alcohol.

Nose: Earthy peat smoke with herbs, mix of sweet and spicy with light ash.

Taste: Spicy and smoky, maritime with earthy notes, underlying fruit and ash.
