Caperdonich 25 Years Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whiskey 0.7l, alc. 48% by volume

The Caperdonich Distillery was founded in 1897 as Glen Grant 2 right next to the actual Glen Grant Distillery. In 2001, after a change of ownership, Caperdonich came to an end and was closed. Forsyth, a coppersmith in the same town, now uses most of the former distillery site and had the original distillery buildings demolished in 2010. The former pot stills went to the Owl Distillery in Belgium, among others, and the washbacks to the Wolfburn distillery in the northern Highlands.

Caperdonich 25 years matured the entire time in ex-bourbon casks. Bottled at 48 vol. % alcohol, without coloring and not chill-filtered.

Aroma: Malty with dark berries, mix of sweetness and spice, ripe fruit notes, delicate smoke and oak.

Palate: Sweet with cinnamon and toffee, ripe pears and blackcurrants, deep maltiness with milk chocolate.
