Caol Ila 25 Years Islay Single Malt Scotch Whiskey 0.7l, alc. 43% by volume

Located in a bay on the Scottish island of Islay, Caol Ila Distillery translates to "The Strait of Islay". Founded in 1846, the distillery is now the largest on the island. Equipped with the latest technology, Caol Ila produces both the smoky part in many Johnnie Walker bottlings and its own single malts. The distillery is quite popular with many independent bottlers, as the high output of the production leads to a good availability of casks.

Caol Ila 25 years matured the entire time in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks. Bottled at 43 vol. % alcohol.

Nose: Sweet with honey, ripe dried fruit, herbal candy, light peat smoke and polished wood.

Taste: Spicy, caramel, dried apricots, floral notes with a slightly ashy edge and aromatic oak.
