After the Benromach distillery was founded in 1898, the distillery went through some truly dark times. In the 1980s, Benromach seemed to be on the brink of collapse before the independent bottler Gordon & Macphail from Elgin took over the distillery. In 1998, the distillery in Forres was reopened by Prince Charles. Benromach is one of the few distilleries in the Scottish Speyside to produce continuously with smoky barley malt.

Benromach Contrasts Peat Smoke wurde mit 55 ppm Rauchgehalt im Malz hergestellt und reifte von 2012 bis 2022 in ehemaligen Bourbonfässern. Abgefüllt mit 46 vol. % Alkohol, ohne Farbstoff und nicht kältefiltriert.

Aroma: Torfrauch, süße Vanille, Honig, Aprikosen, Zitronen, Tabak

Geschmack: Pfeffer, süße Erdbeeren, Orangen, Anis, Lagerfeuer, Rauch, Kohle, Schokolade
