After the Benromach distillery was founded in 1898, the distillery went through some truly dark times. In the 1980s, Benromach seemed to be on the brink of collapse before the independent bottler Gordon & Macphail from Elgin took over the distillery. In 1998, the distillery in Forres was reopened by Prince Charles. Benromach is one of the few distilleries in the Scottish Speyside to produce continuously with smoky barley malt.

Benromach 15 Jahre reifte in einer Kombination aus ehemaligen Bourbon- und Sherryfässern. Abgefüllt mit 43 vol. % Alkohol, ohne Farbstoff.

Aroma: Schokoladige Eiche, zarter Sherry mit reifen Orangen, Leder und unterschwelligem Torfrauch.

Geschmack: Süß, würzig mit pfeffriger Kante, rauchiges Gerstenmalz mit altem Leder und aromatischer Rauchnote, Milchschokolade.
