The Benriach distillery was founded in 1898 between the towns of Elgin and Rothes. The distillery is characterized by its willingness to experiment - both with the malt and the barrels. Benriach produces - rather untypically for Speyside - single malt whiskey that is sometimes very smoky and, in addition to the whiskey without peat smoke, matures it in a variety of different barrels.
Benriach 10 Years Triple Distilled was triple distilled and matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. Bottled at 43 vol. % alcohol, without coloring and not chill-filtered.
Aroma: Sour apples, powdered sugar with hints of green grapes and malt.
Taste: Ripe pears, harmonious mix of sweet and spicy, light pepper note, floral with pleasant oak.
