The Benriach distillery was founded in 1898 between the towns of Elgin and Rothes. The distillery is characterized by its willingness to experiment - both with the malt and the casks. Benriach produces - rather atypically for Speyside - heavily smoky single malt whisky in places and matures it in a variety of different pre-seasoned casks in addition to without peat smoke.

Benriach 10 Jahre The Smoky Ten reifte in einer Kombination aus ehemaligen Bourbon- und Rumfässern, ergänzt um frische Fässer aus amerikanischer Weißeiche (Virgin Oak). Abgefüllt mit 46 vol. % Alkohol, ohne Farbstoff und nicht kältefiltriert.

Aroma: Kalte Rauchigkeit mit leicht aschiger Kante, Honig und Zucker, reife Früchte.

Geschmack: Süß mit glasiertem Schinken, Zitrusfrüchten und Birne, Kräutern und Torfrauch.
