The Balvenie distillery was founded in 1892 directly next to the Glenfiddich distillery and is still in family hands today. Connoisseurs appreciate the soft single malts from the distillery, which is one of the few in Scotland that still operates its own malt floors. Balvenie also produces smoky whiskey - rather untypical for Scottish Speyside.
Balvenie 12 Years Double Wood was first matured in former bourbon casks before being matured in sherry casks. Bottled with a mild 40 vol. % alcohol.
Aroma: Harmonious mix of sweetness and spice, mild fruit notes with hazelnuts and oak.
Taste: Fruity-sweet with hints of cinnamon, spices and a hint of sherry.
