The Ardbeg distillery, located in the south of the Scottish island of Islay, can now call itself one of the best addresses for smoky single malts - after a difficult past including closure. In addition to various permanently available whiskeys, the distillery is known and popular for temporarily available, limited bottlings.

Ardbeg Traigh Bhan Batch 5 matured for 19 years in former bourbon and oloroso sherry casks. Bottled at 46.2 vol. % alcohol, without coloring and not cold filtered.

Aroma: Notes of lush tropical fruits, followed by aromas of smoke and incense. Menthol candy and saddle soap layer roasted green pepper before accents of smoked mango, guava and coconut.

Taste: Creamy at the start with a lush combination of herbal spices and fruity aromas. Smoked maple bacon, charcoal, white pepper and cloves combine with gentle hints of wood smoke and sea spray.
