Shortly after India became independent, Shri JN Radhakrishna founded the Amrut distillery in 1948. Translated, the name of the distillery means "nectar of the gods". Many production steps in whiskey production, such as bottling and packaging, are done entirely by hand, which means that the company employs a large number of people. Since 2004, Amrut has been exported and sold internationally as India's single malt. In their own country only since 2010, since even blended whiskeys are more popular in India.

Amrut Indian Single Malt Whiskey matured in oak casks for an undefined period of time. Bottled at 46% ABV. Alcohol, without coloring and not chill-filtered.

Aroma: Fresh wood, creamy sweetness mixed with spices, notes of ripe fruit and some ginger.

Taste: Malt sugar, some pepper, fruity with oranges and peel, dry, nutty oak.
