The original Wolfburn Distillery was founded in 1821 by William Smith & Co in the North Highlands. Production stopped around 1850 and the distillery fell into disrepair. In 1872 only ruins remained. Plans for a new distillery not far from the site of the old facility only emerged in 2011. Whiskey production started in January 2013.
Wolfburn Morven matured in oak casks for an undefined period. Bottled at 46 vol. % alcohol, without coloring and not chill-filtered.
Aroma: Mildly smoky with sweet and sour fruitiness, floral notes and a light spiciness.
Taste: Green apples, essential oils and delicate herbs with a hint of peat smoke, malty.
