In 1987, John Teeling acquired a former government-owned distillery called Ceimici Teoranta Distillery, which produced potato distillates. After the renaming to Cooley Distillery, he equipped the distillery so that it can produce both single malt and single grain. With the acquisition of the old Kilbeggan Distillery, John Teeling created space to store his whiskeys produced at the Cooley Distillery.
Tyrconnell 10 Years Port Finish first matured in ex-bourbon casks and then received a post-maturation in port wine casks. Bottled at 46% ABV. Alcohol.
Aroma: Slightly spicy with vinous notes and red berries, delicate sweetness with some oak.
Taste: Malty tartness with red currants, some honey, hay and dry, spicy oak.
