The Tamdhu Distillery was founded in 1897 in Speyside, Scotland, and is located in the immediate vicinity of the Dailuaine, Knockando, and Cardhu distilleries. Tamdhu translates as "little dark hill." The distillery's self-bottled single malts are matured exclusively in Spanish sherry casks. Since 2013, the distillery has been owned by the Ian Macleod company, which also owns Glengoyne and Rosebank.
The Tamdhu Cuatro Reserva honors the distillery's commitment to maturing exclusively in rare Oloroso sherry oak casks. This single malt with no age statement is neither cow-filtered nor colored and is bottled in its elegantly designed bottles at 41.2% ABV.
Aroma: Rich in dried fruits, caramel, vanilla and hints of apple, citrus and almond.
Taste: Soft and oily with caramel, vanilla, almonds, chocolate and dried fruits.
