The Talisker distillery was established in 1831 on the Scottish Isle of Skye. The name derives from the Talisker House estate, a few miles west in the mountains. After a fire in 1960 that almost destroyed the entire distillery, Talisker was rebuilt true to the original a few years later. Skye's stunning scenery attracts countless tourists to the distillery every year, many of whom delight in the distillery's peppery, smoky single malt.

Talisker Port Ruighe matured in ex-bourbon casks for an undefined period of time before receiving a post-maturation in port wine casks. Bottled at 45.8 vol. % alcohol.

Aroma: Mild fruitiness, delicate notes of spices with bay leaves, some oak and a subtle note of smoke.

Taste: Red berries, some pepper, mild fruity sweetness with aromatic oak and some peat smoke.
