Stauning Kaos Danish Whiskey 0.7l, alc. 46% by volume

The Stauning Distillery was founded in 2005 in the town of the same name in Denmark. Production began in 2009, initially with 60,000 pure alcohol bottles per year. After Diageo acquired a stake in the distillery, the facility was expanded and the annual output increased to 750,000 pure alcohol. Stauning malts the rye for production and occasionally uses peat and heather for kilning.

Stauning Kaos matured for an undefined period in a combination of ex-bourbon casks and casks made from fresh oak (Virgin Oak). Bottled at 46% vol. Alcohol, without coloring and not chill-filtered.

Nose: Deep cereal notes with walnut and tobacco, dry smoke, fresh oak and spices.

Taste: Hints of citrus and green apples, spicy with pepper, liquorice and some smoke.
