The Pulteney Distillery, which bottles its single malts as "Old Pulteney," was founded in 1826 in the port town of Wick in the Northern Highlands. When the distillery opened, the town of Wick was experiencing a massive boom in herring fishing. The large number of people employed in the fishing industry forced the town council to declare a ban on alcohol in Wick. Pulteney is one of the few Scottish distilleries located in the town center rather than outside.
Old Pulteney Huddart matured for an unspecified period of time in former bourbon barrels.
Bottled at a mild 40% alcohol by volume.
Aroma: Creamy vanilla, coconut, citrus notes, mandarin oranges, lemon cake, spicy oak
Taste: Raisins, tropical fruits, toffee, tobacco notes
