Mortlach Special Release 2022 Single Malt Scotch Whiskey 0.7l, alc. 57.8% by volume

There were once seven whiskey distilleries in the town of Dufftown. Today there are only five - Mortlach is one of them. Founded in 1823, the distillery currently belongs to one of the largest spirits companies in the world, for which blended whiskeys are mainly produced. Mortlach had a famous apprentice: William Grant apprenticed there and later founded the Glenfiddich Distillery in the same town.

Mortlach Special Releases 2022 first matured in ex-bourbon casks for an undefined period of time and then received a post-maturation in a combination of Tawny Port, Red Moscato and fresh oak casks (Virgin Oak). Bottled with a strong 57.8% vol. Alcohol.

Aroma: Meaty notes with sweet fruits, vinous undertones, some spice and dry wood.

Taste: Fruity with red grapes and ripe, exotic fruits, malty and sweet with ginger.
