The Loch Lomond distillery was founded in 1964 on the lake of the same name near the town of Alexandria. The distillery is very diverse in the production of whiskey. Be it through the malt (smoky and non-smoky) as well as through the different systems used to produce a whiskey. In addition to pot stills, the distillery has a few other stills: Lomond stills, since 1993 Coffey stills for grain whiskey and column stills.
Loch Lomond 18 years matured the entire time in ex-bourbon casks. Bottled at 46 vol. % alcohol, not chill filtered.
Aroma: Sugared grapefruit, green apples, slightly dry nut notes with spicy oak and sweetness in the mix.
Taste: Tart and sweet with ripe citrus fruits, mild spices, toffee and vanilla, slightly dry oak.
