Laphroaig Lore 0.7l, alc. 48 Vol.-%

The Laphroaig Distillery was officially founded in 1815 in the south of the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay. At the time of Prohibition, the distillery's whiskey was sold as medicine, which explains the appearance and features of the whiskeys. In 1994 the distillery received the 'Royal Warrant' from King Charles III. presented. He appreciates the smoky single malt whiskey from Laphroaig and visits the distillery regularly. Laphroaig means something like "the beautiful hollow on the wide bay".

Laphroaig Lore matured for an undefined period in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks, as well as quarter casks. Bottled at 48 vol. % alcohol, not chill filtered.

Nose: Smoky charcoal, ash, hints of dark chocolate and citrus, malty sweetness.

Palate: Sweet with pastry and roasted malt, vanilla and herbs, citrus peel and medicinal peat smoke.
