Laphroaig 18 years 0.7l, alc. 48 Vol.-%

The Laphroaig Distillery was officially founded in 1815 in the south of the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay. During the Prohibition era, the distillery's whisky was sold as medicine, which explains the appearance and design of the whiskies. In 1994, the distillery was awarded the 'Royal Warrant' by King Charles III. He greatly appreciates Laphroaig's smoky single malt whisky and visits the distillery regularly. Laphroaig translates as "the beautiful hollow by the wide bay".

Laphroaig 18 years matured the entire time in former bourbon barrels. Bottled with 48% alcohol by volume, not chill-filtered.

Aroma: Sweet with vanilla and toffee, with gentle hints of gooseberry, cooked apple and a touch of cinnamon. Notes of freshly baked apple pie follow.

Taste: Oily, sweet and full-bodied with fruity facets of oranges and nectarines, followed by herbal notes of freshly cut mint, heather honey, a subtle ginger spiciness and peaty notes.
