The Laphroaig Distillery was officially founded in 1815 in the south of the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay. During the Prohibition era, the distillery's whisky was sold as medicine, which explains the appearance and design of the whiskies. In 1994, the distillery was awarded the 'Royal Warrant' by King Charles III. He greatly appreciates Laphroaig's smoky single malt whisky and visits the distillery regularly. Laphroaig translates as "the beautiful hollow by the wide bay".

Laphroaig 10 Years Cask Strength Batch 17 2023 matured the entire time in former bourbon barrels. Bottled with a strong 58.3% alcohol by volume, not chill-filtered.

Aroma: Sweet and smoky notes of candied apples, crème brûlée and pastries. Vanilla, almonds and heather are added, all embedded in intense peat smoke with maritime accents.

Taste: Creamy, smoky and fruity with vanilla, apples, herbal smoke, menthol and salty facets. With a drop of water, smoldering oak notes come to the fore. Sweet nuances of caramel and grilled meat follow.
